Darkness. Flash. Light. Glare. And then? Light is not merely electromagnetic radiation; it is a spiritual and cultural symbol. The Post-Illumination (Postsvícení) exhibition tells its story through light-bearing objects – presented through the work of Michaela Doležalová, who, under the brand Jasna, creates sustainable interior lighting designs using paper of her own production. Her art installation will be complemented by lamps from the MUD* collections and, last but not least, an open interactive paper workshop.

How can we talk about war through art? Though she has lived in the Czech Republic since childhood, the photographer and intermedia artist Polina Davydenko regularly visits her hometown of Dobropillya in the Donetsk region and monitors the changes it has undergone in recent years—both through her work as a reporter and as an artist. Her work is not limited to just photographs and videos; she transforms the images from phone and computer screens that we see in daily news reports into three-dimensional objects. Symbolically, at least, she materializes them and brings the reality of life amidst war within the viewer’s reach.

In November 1989, keys jingled – by the 1990s, it was mobile phones ringing. This outdoor exhibition will remind us of how the Velvet Revolution is reflected in the technologies that have become part of our everyday lives.
